How Derek turns a lead call into a Homeworks site visit
Derek Jackson uses ChatGPT to guide lead calls at Outside Concepts. Once the call ends, he checks the details and creates the lead, property, and site visit in Homeworks.

A clear process for new leads
A new lead call can cover a lot of ground. The office needs to learn what work the customer wants, where the property is, and when they need help. Details such as dogs or a back gate matter too.
Derek built a guided call process using ChatGPT and Homeworks Connect. It puts the call script and the questions in one place. The person taking the call can read the prompts and enter answers as they go.
Open the intake flow and follow the script
When a lead calls, Derek opens his inbound call workflow. It walks him through each part of the call so he can collect the details needed for the next step.
Here is a sample call with a fictional customer named Jane Smith. She found Outside Concepts through Google and wants a fall cleanup and irrigation repair. She prefers text messages and would like the work done within two weeks.
The call flow covers:
The customer's name and property address
How they found the business
Their preferred way to stay in touch
The work they want and how much of the property it covers
Their timeline and budget
Whether they own the home
Access details, such as a back gate or dogs
These questions give the office more than a name and phone number. They help explain the job and flag details that may matter during the visit.
Choose a time for the site visit
In this example, Jane 's request calls for a site visit. Derek checks his calendar and agrees on a Wednesday appointment at 9 a.m. with her.
Derek still makes that choice during the call. The workflow helps him gather the facts, but he decides the next step and agrees on the visit time with the customer.
Check the records before creating new ones
Once the call ends, the workflow checks for possible duplicate records. If it finds a match, Derek can choose from the options instead of creating another record without checking.
In the sample call, there is no match for Jane. The workflow then shows Derek what it is about to create. He reviews that summary before clicking the button to save it in Homeworks.
Create the lead, property, and visit
That final action creates the lead, property, and site visit. The workflow also adds notes so the team can see where the record came from. After saving, Derek checks Homeworks to confirm that the records are there. For a call like Jane's, that means checking her contact details, her property, and the 9 a.m. site visit on the calendar.
Why Connect mattered
ChatGPT guides the call and collects the answers. Homeworks Connect lets Derek use those answer ro create the records his team needs for the visit.
This is a custom workflow Derek built around his own call process. It shows how an office can follow a set script, review the details, and move a new lead into Homeworks. It is not a standard built-in Homeworks intake feature.
